Iran's military claims to have hit a American military facility in Manama, as Iran launched missile attacks across the region in response for a "massive" and ongoing offensive targeting the nation by the US and Israel.

Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an area near the command center of the American Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The scope of any damage is uncertain and the United States has remained silent.

Airspace Engagements

Elsewhere across the region, the UAE, Qatar and the State of Kuwait - each hosting American military installations - stated they have shot down missiles in their air space.

In Doha, the Qatari Ministry of Defence announced it had successfully engaged several missiles apparently targeting the al-Udeid air base, the biggest US military installation in the Middle East.

Iran's Declared Retaliation

Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) declared it was targeting American facilities and interests as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in reprisal for the strikes on the Islamic Republic carried out by the US and Israel on Saturday morning.

That initial attack - initiated at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far targeted sites associated with the Tehran's leadership, with President Trump urging the Iranian people to rise up against the regime.

Regional Fallout

In the State of Israel, air raid sirens sounded across the country after the Israel Defense Forces said it had identified an barrage of missiles from Iran.

The defence ministry of the UAE stated that the nation has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"Emirati air defenses responded to the missiles with high efficiency and destroyed a series of missiles," it added.

The statement noted wreckage landed in a neighborhood in the capital, causing some material damage and killing a civilian.

The United States Air Force operates from Al Dhafra Air Base, south of the Emirati capital, along with the UAE Air Force.
