An Australian man that leaped across a fence and grabbed actress Ariana Grande has been deported and prohibited from Singapore.

The man, twenty-six, was handed a penalty to more than a week in prison for causing a public disturbance and has now been "prohibited from returning to Singapore," Singaporean immigration authorities informed local media.

Wen pushed beyond security and charged at the performer and artist, who was present at the regional launch for the film on 13 November. Co-star Cynthia Erivo intervened to remove him from Grande.

Wen has a history of interrupting performances and star-studded occasions, including rushing the stage at the pop star's Australian show in this summer.

The event sparked outrage in Singapore, with several individuals accusing him of re-traumatising Grande.

The pop star has discussed experiencing PTSD after a suicide bomb attack at her performance in Manchester in May 2017 took the lives of 22 people and injured hundreds.

Throughout the court proceedings, the court heard he had tried to gain access on the red carpet event on two occasions, according to local news sources.

He then made a second attempt to jump the barricades. Security staff stopped him and pinned him down.

Wen later posted video clips thanking Grande for permitting his access and said he was "released."

Police arrested him the subsequent day and charged him with disorderly conduct, to which he confessed.

The Presiding Judge Christopher Goh was referenced by media reports as saying that the man sought attention, noting that he was mistaken to assume he would not face any penalties.

Grande has not addressed the incident.

Cynthia Erivo spoke about the incident to a media outlet, saying that she "simply desired to verify my colleague was secure."

"I believe he didn't intend us danger, but you can't predict with such situations, and I aimed to make sure that she was alright. That was my initial reaction," she stated.
