We start with inquiries from Conservative MP the panel's head, who leads the committee.

She initiates by offering context to the leaked memorandum prepared by Michael Prescott and released in a national newspaper.

"It is not my wish for the BBC leaning toward one side or the other, I just want it balanced, unbiased and equitable," he states.

In response to a query if he believes the BBC is structurally prejudiced, he replies: "No I don't. To be clear, tons of stuff the BBC does is top-tier - including factual and non-factual programming."

Nevertheless, he states: "There remains substantial tasks that requires attention at the BBC."

The second previous consultant British Broadcasting Corporation specialist examined by the group, Caroline Daniel, says she views the BBC with great importance and that it has a "ongoing system and active debate" across fluid and multifaceted issues.

"Whether the BBC was willing to engage in a proper discussion and exchange and act accordingly?" she asks herself. "From my perspective, affirmative, they were."
