Renowned Performer Pat Finn, a versatile actor, Recognized For Parts in Seinfeld and The Middle, Passes Away at Age 60.
American actor Finn, who appeared in beloved television series such as "Friends", Seinfeld and The Middle, has passed away at the age of 60.
The comedy and improvisation performer died at home in Los Angeles, California recently having undergone treatment for cancer beginning in 2022, according to media reports.
"Pat Finn saw everyone as a friend - just potential friends he had yet to meet," his loved ones shared in a statement.
They added that he had "lived his life fully - with happiness and energy".
An Extensive TV Career
Finn's first television role was on a show starring George Wendt in 1995, where he appeared as the titular character's brother.
He also had a regular part on "Murphy Brown" from 1995 to 1997.
He appeared as Joe Mayo in "Seinfeld" in the late 90s, depicting a host who would assign burdensome jobs to his guests.
In the late 1990s and early 2000s, he appeared as a guest star on numerous hit series, like:
- The King of Queens
- "Friends"
- That '70s Show
- House
He was most recognized for his portrayal of Bill Norwood in The Middle, featuring across eight series over nearly a decade.
His work in movies are "It's Complicated" and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups (2012).
Beyond the Screen
Away from his television work, Finn was a skilled improviser and also taught at the University of Colorado, where he was an adjunct professor.
He was a member of a six-person improv troupe called Beer Shark Mice.
"He guided, supported, and advised numerous pupils over the years and it would be difficult to find anyone anywhere who has an unkind word to say about him," his relatives stated.
Paying homage, peer Richard Kind noted there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, down to earth person you could encounter".
"Always positive, assisting others to improve and be funnier. A wonderful father and man," he shared on social media.
The actor is survived by his wife Donna, his three kids, and his parents and siblings.
