The 22-year-old tennis player Emma Raducanu concludes the current season and will keep trainer through next year.
The British player made it to the third stage in three out of four Grand Slams this year.
The British tennis star Emma Raducanu has pulled out of her final two events in 2025 because of a medical condition she has been battling for the last week and a half.
Raducanu, aged 22 was scheduled to compete in Tokyo and Hong Kong but opted to return home to recover ahead of launching next year's training.
These plans are set to feature her coach Francisco Roig, as they have agreed to work together in 2026.
The tennis professional underwent blood pressure monitoring during her first-round match versus Ann Li in Wuhan last week and stopped playing when losing 6-1 4-1 on a very muggy occasion.
She again required a visit from the doctor at the recent Ningbo Open, where she fell in a three-set match to Zhu Lin, a Chinese wildcard in round one.
She was also playing with clear difficulty in the deciding set in the match with Zhu due to a lower back issue that has been a concern on several occasions in 2025.
These outcomes signaled a promising season, in which Raducanu rose into the international top 30 after more than three years since her previous ranking, finished with a trio of defeats.
The athlete was close to victory with three match points prior to falling to Pegula in the third round in the Beijing tournament last month.
The player achieved twenty-eight matches during 2025 and advanced to the semis in Washington, but her standout performance was at the Miami Open in March.
As Britain's top player made the last eight of the WTA 1000 event, defeating eighth seed Emma Navarro during the tournament before losing in three sets to Pegula, ranked fourth.
Her coach was Mark Petchey from Miami until Wimbledon, with Francisco Roig stepping in in time for the US Open.
The initial agreement with the ex-coach of Rafael Nadal was through the season's conclusion but they will keep working together, with a training block pencilled in for the end of the year.
The athlete revealed that a three-day test period with Roig after Wimbledon was like a "black ops mission" as they tried to keep the meeting secret.
The player was close to beating world number one Aryna Sabalenka at their first tournament together in Cincinnati during August.
Roig joined her in New York, where she advanced to round three then falling to 2022 Wimbledon champion Elena Rybakina.
